As part of its global expansion, the company is opening an office in Kyiv and is seeking an experienced and highly motivated Business Development Director (Ukraine) to build and develop the company’s operations in the region.
As Business Development Director in Ukraine, you will lead the company’s market entry and oversee all commercial activities in the country.
You will work directly with corporate clients, energy companies, industrial enterprises, agribusiness, and organizations pursuing decarbonization and renewable energy strategies. You will be responsible for generating new business opportunities, building executive-level relationships across corporate, energy, industrial, and agricultural sectors, and acting as the company’s local representative and primary point of contact in Ukraine.
Working closely with international sales, trading, origination, and advisory teams, you will help convert presales opportunities into long-term commercial partnerships.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the commercial and strategic development of the company’s business in Ukraine by building partnerships and expanding the client base.
- Identify and develop new business opportunities in carbon markets, environmental advisory, and renewable energy.
- Promote and sell carbon credits, RECs, GOs, I-RECs, REGOs, RGGOs, and biomethane certificates to Ukrainian companies.
- Build relationships with key stakeholders across energy, industry, agribusiness, as well as governmental and non-governmental organizations.
- Support clients in achieving carbon neutrality and ESG compliance goals, including preparation for CBAM requirements.
- Represent the company at Ukrainian and international sustainability and climate conferences and forums.
- Contribute to brand development through public speaking, industry events, and expert discussions on climate and sustainability.
KPIs (Key Performance Indicators)
- Generate 15–20 new qualified leads per month, including 5+ leads from large corporations.
- Conduct at least 10 qualified meetings per month.
- Achieve 20% conversion of leads into revenue-generating clients.
Candidate Requirements
- Experience in business development, sales, or key account management within VCM, EAC, or related sectors.
- Strong understanding of environmental markets, CO₂ pricing mechanisms, and renewable energy frameworks.
- Established network within corporate, energy, and industrial sectors in Ukraine.
- Entrepreneurial mindset, high level of independence, and strong results orientation.
- Excellent communication, negotiation, and presentation skills.
- Fluency in Ukrainian and English (additional languages are a plus).
